Right in the middle of produce

So today I'm teaching one of associates in produce how to work on price changes and what comes on the walmart radio..mom's favorite song..it fucked me up a little bit almost started crying right there in the middle of produce...that hasn't happened in awhile

Just wanna go hide

Gotta work next two days at midnight to 9am to help get 3000 turkeys in order for a couple big orders.and I'm so sick right now..just wanna sleep,then we got black Friday coming up and they put me and gina on the big tv an large item lines..any line dealing with electronics on a black Friday is a fucking circus to deal with..

Pretty much done

Well..after I don't know how long I have  pretty much finished the storm trooper helmet..I fucked it up in parts but all in all I'm happy with it..I did learn that I hate the process of sanding..lol..the pic below the finished helmet is in top left and rest of pics were taken along the way.

Pumpkins

Ok,pumpkins need to stop showing up at work I got 6 dump bins of them today..they say I'm getting another 6 2morro that's another 240 pumpkins..if that many show up in the morning I'm gonna have to lower the price so I can sell thru by nightfall..these pumpkins should have been here earlier in the week..the misters on my vegetable wall went down so every 45mins or I gotta go out there with a spray bottle and water down the vegtables.then I'm having issues with one of my team members, basically it needed with me telling managment to remove her from my dept.then all the bulk mixed nuts showed up 5 dump bins of those and I got nowhere to put them,they r taking up valuable space in my backroom...it was annoying day at work today...

Here's gina shield so far.top pic is her adding rings of paper.and last pic is it all assembled don't think pic shows very well how big this.but it's big.her next step is to use glue to harden up the sheild.

Last few weeks

So the last few weeks I have been building this storm trooper helmet..I started with a pattern I printed out on paper.then cut it out and assembled according to pattern.then I used glue to harden the entire helmet.and I'm currently adding wood filler to smooth the entire helmet out.its time consuming,each layer I have to sand it then add filler.im 3 layers into it.after that I will add a primer then paint the thing up.the helmet will be solid and wearable..gina is working on a full size captain America shield I'll add pics in next post.if all goes well I'll continue to make helmets from various games,movies and nerdy stuff like that..lol.

oregon 2015

here is the pics from the visit to Oregon this year.. a warning, there is a lot of pics.i tried to break it up into a few different albums to make it a little easier.. the visit went great dad was so surprised and glad we came to visit. hes still healing up from motorcycle accident.but looks really good. he says hes going to sell the motorcycle i think i t scared him from getting back on it. come to find out tho this was the 4th time he went off the road on the bike. you can see the heartbreak in his face when he talks about selling it. personally part of me is glad hes selling it other part is sad for him cause i know how much he loves riding. told him to get a vespa(those little motor scooter things) and start a vespa gang out there..lol..anyway great visit. i can still see the look on his face when we just walked in the front door,very cool..

It hit me

So I'm looking around a thrift store by the old house we use to live at with a bunch of family members.the one we where we got kicked out had an hour to  take what we could carry in the car.i told u this story..anyway so at The thrift store today I was looking at these stackes of baseball cards in plastic bags and I thought to myself I bet these are our cards.cause when we had to leave that house we couldn't take our 30+ year baseball card collection with us.we lost it along with everything else.kinda made me sad...we didn't buy the baseball cards but as I looked away from the cards I see someone's college diploma sitting there for sale...first thought that came to mind is one day I'm gonna walk in here and buy back my high school diploma,watch it's gonna happen...feeling kinda bummed out over this right now..

Glue

Someone left a leaky bottle of gorilla glue on the banana table.i pick it up to take to the backroom, And got glue on my fingers and at that moment my ear started to itch..so what did I do,that's right scratch my ear with fingers that had glue on them..I got gorilla glue in my ear..it has been a rough day today..lol

Cant

Been trying to sleep for the last 3 hours..no luck..gotta be up for work in 3 hours..gonna be a long day..Guess I'll go play some solitaire while I wait for the alarm to go off..I just wanna sleep,wish I could

Update on dad

Well he's out of icu. He had a collapsed lung,5 broken ribs ,broken collar bone and something is wrong with his shoulder. Yesterday they took out the tubes in his back for the collapsed lung.they say he's doing great.they are gonna wait on surgery on shoulder (which I'm still trying to figure out why they need to operate on it) and let his ribs and collar bone heal up first..so he will be able to go home in a few days..thank god..we got to talk with him and he sounds great.he was in a lot of pain tho he had to cough while I was on the phone and he handed phone off and I could hear him trying to cough and all the swear words that he said cause of the pain.that was the most I have heard him use curse words ever in my life..he told us he went for a ride no destination In sight just a ride.well he got distracted a bit and went off the road and he thought he could get the bike back on the road ,he was wrong.went into the ditch and hit a bank of dirt or something and went chest first into the handle bars and shield thing..update more later

Heart sank

Nothing makes your your heart sink like a 530am phone call from your dad's girlfriend and first words out of her mouth is your dad's been in a motorcycle accident...he's in icu  with broken shoulder and ribs and  they had to put tubes in his chest to help him breathe.he didnt know what city he was in or what exactly happened..shes gonna let me know  any updates later as they come in.

We were in drive thru at jack this morning and we get to window and the lady at the window asks if we r twins.we say yes and she gets all excited and says she's a twin too and how she loves to see twins.i was thinking to myself it creeps me the fuck out when I see twins..lol..wonder if other twins feel that way or do they get like the drive thru lady?..

Got 1 hr and 15min til I'm off work..can't wait.im not doing anything after work but will be  glad to be out of this place..im over today......vacation soon..2 weeks away from here..can't come soon enough..

Soap

A old dude comes in today and grabs a motorized cart and goes to the family bathroom in back of store and commences to get naked and take a bath in the sink and sat back down bare ass on the cart to finish washing.he got done,got dressed went up front told the cashiers what he did and told them you can go clean the fucking mess I just made in your bathroom..lmao..now since we didnt have maintenence there till later in day they made a customer service person go clean up the mess..wtf.

Vacation

We figured out what to do for vacation this year.in Oct we r gonna spend a week at dads for his birthday.he doesn't know we r coming just gonna show up on his doorstep morning of his bday.hopefully he likes the surprise.we will spend a week with him then come home and spend a week at home on a stay-cation..

Aug 10th

Today's mom bday.todays starts the me feeling down and bummed out for awhile ..first her bday then the holidays and anniversary of her passing which was the day before Thanksgiving that year.then January hits and it's our bday.i usually just feel crappy during this whole time.maybe this year will be easier..

Microwavable burito

So this morning I'm talking with one of my produce people and she tells me she doesn't know how to cook and how she microwaved a burito for dinner last night.i told her you have never cooked b4,your momma didn't teach you..she said nope I'm just use to the Mexicans fixing my food for me..wtf...lol.i just stood there and looked at her with a total dumbfounded look on my face and all I could say was ok..who the fuck says shit like that..

New neighbors

People moved in downstairs .well they r some major pot heads..as i sit here I'm getting a contact high from the second hand smoke..this reminds of working a powerhouse concert or a yes concert. I remember working yes on 3 and a suite door opened up and smoke poured out of it..lol..maybe this will help me sleep better..lol

Wtf gina

So I'm in at work in produce backroom with a couple of my associates and we r breaking down cardboard and cleaning up backroom.well,gina comes in for something and I told her hey hand me those empty grape boxes so I can break them down.she throws the box and it hits me in face just right knocking my glasses off my face and they landing under the 3 compartment sink.i said nobody move cause I can't see shit.without glasses I can't see my hand in front of my face.well an associate of mine gets my glasses and let's me know the lenses fell out..I'm glad there is a vision center in our store.i gathered my glasses and lenses and went over there.they fixed them right up..last time I ask gina to hand me a box

Wtf

With all this heat and humdity going on I have to inspect the watermelons closely before putting them out on salefloor.watermelons don't do well in humidity.well I open a bin of today's melons and found this (pic)..I swear looks like something hatched out of the melon and escaped..lol..we had to clean remaining ones and place them in a bin before putting out for sale..I've never seen a watermelon look that red on the inside like that before.we are taking a big hit on our melons cause of this humdity,not good at all.

One eyed nun

Today a Co worker comes and tells me a customer has some complaints and wants to speak with the produce manager.so I go out there and there's a one eyed nun in a motorized cart and as soon as she saw me she started yelling at me about how she wants grapefruit and how she just spent the last 14 days in the hospital and wants her grapefruit.told her hang on I'll go get u some.i come back and give her the fruit and as she starts zooming away In her cart she yells out a god bless you..ok question, is it a bad thing to be yelled at by a nun, a one eyed nun at that and to be told God bless you in such a disgusted tone?..lol..

It's 5am on my day off,time to go do laundry b4 it gets packed full of people..

Corn

So on 4th of July we stocked and sold 5800 ears of corn and on the afternoon of the 3rd (corn delivery came late that day) we sold almost 3000 ears so in a day and half we sold almost 9000 ears of corn..my produce teams arms are still sore from the constant stocking of corn.and they never wanna see corn again..lol .told them wait till we gotta deal with pumpkins..

So as of today both gina and I have had our anniversaries at work which means we got vacation time again.so what should we do?.stay home,try and go somewhere?.cause we have to use it or we lose it kind of thing and we have to put time off request in at least two months ahead of time to get approval..any suggestions?

So we r having a heat wave,u know what sucks during a heatwave living in an apt above the laundry room and the room you sleep in is above the dryers in laundry room..the building we live in is old and run down so no ac ,we found a couple of fans at the thrift store which help a bit.i can't wait to get to work to work in the cooler and freezers for 9hrs.

Busy Saturday

It was a truck day.we got 9 pallets..then I had to condense watermelon bins.i picked up and moved 130 watermelons then I built a cantaloupe display..that was 200 cantaloupes..fuck my arms hurt forearms,and upper arms burn.and my hands hurt and felt swollen I actually shoved them In the corn cases that were packed in ice to numb them out..not to mention in the 9 hrs I worked today I emptied a pallet and a half of corn to the salesfloor.plus all the everyday stocking we do..busy day..

Work part2

Well all dpt managers we're called into a group meeting and we discussed the changes coming. home office decided to go by sales to determine how any dpt managers each store should have.so some stores had to many so some folks they had to find other places for them or transfer them around.our store came up two to many.so lucky for us a dpt manager put two week notice in and they gave our brother dairy and frozen dpts merged the two together.so every gets to stay in our store.thats all we were told today.up next is the individual talks with store manager which start 2morro.we r off so we might get talked to on friday.im just glad all the dpt managers get to stay in the store.they also eliminated the zone manager postion.now those folks have to get put somewhere..it's basically coming down to less chiefs and now next step after dpt manager is a salaried member of managment with zone managers been axed.hopefully this all turns out well

Work...

u guys know how my place of employment is raising the start pay for their people.now it's time for them to look at department managers.apparently they revamped our roles and responsibilities so much so that now the store manager has to sit down with each of us and explain the changes and the new expectations and stuff and we have to decide if we want to continue being department managers in the areas the we r in now and the store manager has to decide if thinks we are the best fit for the areas we are in now.this affects our rates of pay too.so I guess 2morro is the day we start these sit downs with the store manager..wish us luck..

Well that was a startling nightmare I just had...got 3 hours til I gotta be up for work.i don't think I'm going back to bed anytime soon..as i write this my heart is still beating a bit fast..

Split days

You would think after a year and a half  of having split days off I would be use to it..nope...it sucks ass..I just don't feel like I get a break.two days off in a row would be nice.but will never happen..

A snack

At work today I was on the sales floor stocking stuff and a mom with 3 rowdy boys all about the ages of 9-12..the kids get to the deli area and all r yelling to their mom they want snacks.so two of the boys pick out a tea and sandwich from the deli and the third boy says I want this.i just happen to turn around as the 3rd kid says he wants this and I see him standing their with a rack of Louisiana style ribs..damn thing was bigger then he was and he was carrying it like a dead body draped across both his arms..lmao..I got a good laugh out of that.the mom made them put all the snacks back including the rack of ribs..

I have been up for almost 20 hours now and can't seem to get myself to fall asleep.....i hate this..

Corn

We got a tall pallet of corn and its cased in ice and I pull the top rpc of it and jar the ice pack and it fell on me and went down my shirt..I got ice in my belly button and all kinds of places..lol..

This is me today when management is talking to me..had to come in early today.entire floor got reset for the summer layout..ready for day to be over..

Mother's day

So spent most of my work day making sure we keep up with demand of mothers day flowers..filling them up all day long..constant reminder all day of mom being gone..kinda of a tough day for me..it still affects me.almost 8 years later and still some days it's as if we lost her ystrday..

Hamster

I get back from lunch break and one of my associates tells me that the shift manager (person right below store manager) came in to the backroom and she was txting on her phone and she, in order to distract him to the fact she was on phone she asked him "Jay,do u ever feel like putting a hamster in the microwave".she said he kinda stepped back and asked  her are you having a bad day ,she says yes and then he leaves forgetting the fact she was on her phone(which we aren't suppose to be on phones while working)..wtf..hamster in the microwave..lol..produce people are just weird..lol

It's only the phone

I think work is getting to me. a dude keeps calling and asking for us to hold boxes for him,now I don't mind doing it but to call numerous times a day and a few times a week wanting a count on how many boxes we got.its a bit much.last call I threw a cantaloupe at the phone and knocked the whole unit off the wall and it came unplugged and landed in the prep sink.lol...i gathered all the pieces reassembled the phone back on the wall but  I didn't plug it back in and just tucked the cord behind the phone..lol..I hate that fucking phone.

Corn

3300 ears of corn came in today.all packed in a lot of ice causing a watery mess in my back room.come by and buy corn I have them down to 3 for 99 cents for the weekend.

New record

Just read that the world record has been beaten for solving the rubiks cube the new record holder shaved off 0.3 seconds.so the record is now 5.25 Seconds.im still over a minute. .long way to go..lol..

Just finished up inventory.only had an overage of 100 bucks.not bad I'll take it..gotta be back at 5am 2morro..ugh..maybe I'll call in..lol..

Sleep

cant seem to fall asleep tonight,got a thousand things running thru my head right now.think I need a few days off in a row.these split days off are starting to get to me.

what did he just say?

me,gina and a female coworker go to receiving to unload and the meat/produce truck(13 pallets).so there we are the three of us lined up pallet jacks in hand starring down the truck driver waiting for him to open the trailer door.couple mins go by and no one is saying anything.so I jump in and yell at the driver hey are you gonna open the the trailer door so we can unload this.his was like I didnt know what was going on you three looked like you were gonna kick my ass or something.lol.so he opens the door we start unloading the truck and he starts saying I cant believe they r having the women unload the truck.he starts trying to take the pallet jacks from us and try to unload it himself..he got the pallets stuck on the trailer door everytime..what a fucking dumbass..and one of the pallets it took him 10mins to take off the truck.that pallet he managed to hit it with the trailer door and rip four boxes off the top of the pallet.he also dropped boxes of flowers which had water in their pots causing a big water spill..then a male coworker comes over to help and the driver tells him you better take the banana pallet(its 2000lbs) the the girls probably cant move that.our male coworker told him dude you sit in a truck all day and drive around.these girls can work circles around you and me.this driver reminded me of the rednecks we delt with while working in washington..

some guy had his huge pet iguanna or bearded dragon,whatever it was in his shopping cart and that thing took a shit on the floor in produce..wish I had gotten a picture of that thing

2 years

its been two years since I had surgery to remove that tumor I had and today at the incision site on my stomach where they pulled the cut up pieces of tumor out of its hurting like a son of a bitch today.have this burning,ripping feeling going on to.should this be happening all this time later..is it scar tissue,inflamed muscle,nerve damage?..I dont know..its making it difficult to stock produce today thats for sure..with every toss of freight it feels like my side is kinda ripping open..im getting concerned about this..

Inventory

Well got thru inventory and gina who this was her first inventory as the meat dept manager she actually tripled the profit .the dept b4 gina was only making a 4% profit,pretty bad..gina takes over and in a month has tripled the profit almost hitting her minimum target goal..I bet next month she will have it above target..

Finally

Well after working a week straight no days off and none in sight for another 3 days I convinced them to take us off the schedule for 2morro..finally a day off.after so many days in wally world it starts to get to you...

The last tues

The last tuesday of every month sucks ass....inventory night...excuse me while I go practice my counting...

I hate when a manager from work txt me at 10pm at night on my day off to tell me to make sure to check my work email in the morning.wont tell me whats it about but there was a guy high in the ranks come and tour the store today..so with a txt message this late ,its probably gonna be a bad email right?..my day is gonna be shitty 2morro right?..now I cant get my mind to stop thinking about all the bad things that can be in this email so I can sleep..

Coffee

Ok so those of you that know me know I cant stand coffee.dont like the taste,the smell,brewed and unbrewed.i just find it disgusting.anyway our brother who lives with us is a coffee junkie..and I get it hes addicted to it.every morning tho when we all get into the car to go to work he brings a cup of coffee with him and it stinks up the car and I just want to throw the shit out the window.on drive to work this morning thats all I kept picturing myself doing.lol..I wish I did thorw it out..ok enough of my rant this morning.

I just read a story on facebook where this guys cat died,was hit by a car.he buried the cat and 5 days later the cat showed up on the doorstep alive..what would u do if your dead cat showed up back on your doorstep like that.all I can think of is pet cemetery.

Our neighbor has a rooster.as we were leaving at 430am for work the damn thing was loud as could be..

One week

Well one week down in new place.I learned a few things about the place.everyday around 3pm a guy on a bike comes into the courtyard and sells corn.an eldery couple comes around looks like once a week and goes door to door selling tamales.then last night a guy with a backpack fully of illegal dvds came around door to door trying to sell them.
Hot water is a  hit and miss,depends how many people are doing wash that day.the guy down stairs loves and I mean loves his ranchero music and plays it and sings it very loud on sundays,all day.
I learned that since we have hardwood floors to be careful getting up in the morning.we r sleeping on  the floor and the apt is cold so i wear socks when I go to sleep.well other morning im trying to get up off of the floor ,at 4am mind you,and when the socks hit the floor I almost faceplated back on to the floor.a friend of ours lent us a small fridge,like a dorm size one to use til we find something else.another friend is giving us a couch and table.gotta say we r very lucky we got some awesome friends.even the ones that cant help ,the prayers,good thoughts and the ablitiy to just let us vent to them is awesome..thank you guys

Cilantro

Today at work while i was stocking some oranges and guy comes up to me and asks can u get alcohol with store credit.told him no dnt think so.he went left.he then comes back with a handfull of cilantro asking me why is the cilantro naked,why isnt it in a bag all while laughing hysterically.told him im not sure and told me look at me telling walmart how to do things,still laughing and puts the cilantro in a bag and went on his merry way.

No pants

We were driving home last night from  visiting with a friend and next to us was a guy on a motorcycle with no pants on.the dude had no pants..lol..I tried to take a pic but at couldnt get it.wonder why the lack of pants.drunk?,air the jewels out?,was it a dare..no one will know..

Life reset for me and gina this last week.we got home from work and walked into everyone in the house moving their shit out.we were told we only got a few hours til house is locked up.due to a family members stupidity we got kicked out.with only a few hours to get stuff out all we could get was nessecities that would fit in car.everything else we lost.we scrambled to find a place to go.we had enough money for one week at motel six.and thats what we did.me gina and our brother mark in a motel room and one week to get out.we sold off the few bits of jewelry of our moms that we had plus our class rings,stanley cups rings and mark sold his car and we got enough money for move in costs for an apt.we found a place ,we moved in at 10am on day we had to be out of motel at noon.so we were down to the last min and made it.the place is not in that great of an area and the complex is bit on the scary side and apt is not the best .but its temporary.the  generosity of friends and co workers is awesome  they gave us blankets,towels,pillows,dishes,cups,forks and stuff.last night was first night in new place and it was awesome to have blankets and stuff.
First night was kinda creepy but first nights in new places always seem that way for me.we put a blanket on the floor had the laptop going with a movie and a picture of mom next to us and went to sleep.
We talked with work and they are transfering our brother mark to our store so we can save on gas in the car and bus fare for him.plus it will be nice for the three of us to be in same store,it will help a lot.
Resets are a bitch but we are getting thru it.

Does anyone know of any apartments that have vacancies?.
