a few things

so all week i have been working the closing shift in produce. when you close you spend the last two hours of your shift cleaning up the backroom.You have to clean the sinks, knives, scale,carts,cutting boards, floor, floor drains and sinks. plus dump the compost and deal with the cardboard and plastic bags and shit like that.well last night when i was washing the drains the power-washer hose thing got away from me and some how i managed to soak my pants..lol..
Then while i was cleaning up one of the carts a big ass spider was hanging out on the cart. it was light brown with spots on it(first thing they told me when i got to produce was to keep a look out for the spiders that can be on the cases of bananas.apparently they are nasty ones.).. i looked away for a second to try and find something to kill it with and i looked back and it was gone..i freaked out..i was certain the thing got in my hair and nested in there.then i thoguht " oh my god its going to bite me and im gonna die in walmart"..lol..it was funny..i never did find the spider.
they made a bunch of us ( me included) empty a truck right before my shift was over. i was pissed i just wanted to go home.get that done i clock out and realized i have to buy toilet paper on way out of work..of course there's a huge line.And stupid me goes through the express line. well, there's nothing express about the express lane. so i get to the front of line and realize why it took so long to get through. they had the girl that had only use of one of her arms cause the other one was basically a flipper..lol... why would you put a person who can only use one arm on a register..and express lane register at that..
After getting soaked,thinking a spider nested in my hair, emptying a truck, and dealing with the long line to buy tp i was so glad to get home and to have to today off...

weird things

on the way home from work tonight we almost ran over a skunk...a skunk...i never seen one of those before..check out the praying mantis that was in the forkers garden

kids visit

the kids visit came to an end this week. he went home on tuesday. It was nice to have him here this summer.miss you kid...love ya...

Hiking

So we went hiking today..first time doin that. the first place we went was a place called summer falls. we hiked up to a waterfall. which was really cool we were standing right behind it. then we went to deep lake. we hiked up to this hole in the side of the mountain. we had to climb through the hole and drop down. when we got inside the mountain it was weird. it was a giant hole in the mountain leading out of the mountain they called it an amphitheater.so we climbed out of that and stood on top and you could see the whole area. they say we where like 80 feet up or so.then it was time to hike back down and climb back through that hole. this is where it got interesting. at points during this time we had to have our friends husband help us down. the rocks kept sliding out from under us and if you slide off to the side you where sliding right off the mountain.lol. so we get back through the hole. as Gina was heading down from the hole. the rocks slide and her feet slid out in front of her and she falls. that was a very stress full moment for me. i can still see her hitting the ground. she had a water bottle in her back pocket that, i don't know, broke her fall or something. but she got up and wasn't hurt. elbows a bit scraped up. the kid said it looked like she sneezed to hard and knocked herself back and fell. so we get back to ground level in one piece and go to the other side of the lake where people jump off the cliffs into the lake. there was a few platforms you could jump off. ones at 10,20,40 and 60 feet. our friends husband had to do back flip off the cliff at the 10 foot one. don't think i could ever get the nerve up to do that. here some pics from today. had a great time glad we did it.

hike

so while i was in the cooler

i was in the cooler getting turnip greens and i hear"Hello"..i look around dont see anyone so i walk out farther and there was a lady who came into the backroom(who does that?.)she wanted some boxes. so i was like ok.. i dig out some boxes for her and as she took them i noticed her hands..she had that lobster claw disease. her hands looked like lobster claws..i tried not to look. but it was like a train wreck i just had to look. all i could think was i live in one fucked up town. i think there is a abnormally high number of birth defects here.

I was going through the cantaloupes today pulling out the bad ones and stuff like that. i pick up one and my thumbs hit the soft spot just right and it put a hole in the cantaloupe causing the liquidized cantaloupe to shoot out and hit me and got all over my shirt guess i should start using the aprons they have in produce..lol..

Birthdays

At the end of the week it will be our brothers kids mom birthday. she died earlier this year. this person has been a part of our lives in one way or another since we were 9 years old. Love ya Lisa, miss you. Next week will be moms Birthday.Cant believe shes been gone about 2 a half years now. we think about her almost everyday. I catch myself asking "what would mom do" or how would mom handle this situation. Love you mom, Miss you..Happy Birthday Both of you!.
