Godzilla

we went to the pet store yesterday to pick up crickets for Amtrak and greyhound and we were looking around and saw the biggest red ear slider turtle ever..well we went back today and bought it...The turtle was tearing up the tank setup the pet store had him in...Gina said it looked like Godzilla attacking Tokyo...lol..so we brought it home and we were watching it and next thing we know its laying eggs...so far she has popped out two eggs, there will probably be more eggs in the tank tomorrow..We couldn't think of a name for her, we would love to hear any suggestions you have.oh we measured her and she is about 9 inches long...we have never seen one this big before

Johns family did the tour. the second picture is john and his son with their hairnets getting ready for the tour..lol...(sorry john had to put it up).after we did that we stopped at a place called pioneer village. Its a Columbia Plateau Indian artifact collection(the next couple of pics)there was a museum and stuff you could buy there.it was kinda neat. The Next place in Cashmere we stopped was a restaurant called Studebaker's. it was a 50's style restaurant. It was a cool place to stop for lunch(hey esther, debby did you notice we are in that last couple of pictures..lol).Attached to this place is a huge antique mall...we quickly went through it, you would need at least a day to get through it all.

toad

i told you all about our fire bellied toad,Amtrak, that our friends had gotten us...well we were at the pet store the other day buying crickets for Amtrak.. and there was an other fire bellied toad for sale..we bought him...we named him greyhound..i'll post pictures of them later.

The movies

we went to movies today, saw journey to the center of the earth.it was a good movie...going to a movie in a small town is a lot different then where we are from. We get there and the room only has 7 rows.. i had classes in college that had more chairs in them. we were the only ones in there besides this other lady..then the previews start and then here comes the herd of people...all three of them...lol...there was only i think 9 people total in there( 5 of which were us)..it was just weird..

The beginning, and end of.......

Day 1 of the new job...we get there and clock in and meet the guy that everyone says is an asshole and stuff like that..the guy was shorter then we are.i was thinking to myself i could just flick him out of the way if he starts his shit..then we meet the other night stock people...well it was only one guy...one...now when we were being interviewed they told us we had to stock 40 boxes a night...we thought ok....well...they lied we did 480 the first night, the asshole told us this was a light night....plus after we did that which took 5 hours we had to go around the isles and turn all the products so the label faced out towards the shopper...the second night was the same shit.. we came home bruised, cut up( looked like i was cutting my wrists) and sore as hell..then that second night the "asshole" was telling us there's a reason that cant keep people at this store and all this bad stuff about the store...then tells us that hes not trying to discourage us but we need to know. well...we never went back for night three..soo... in a three day span we got a job and quit a job...lol...

job

well we went in today for training..4 hours behind a computer, reading, listening and watching videos and answering questions on all that shit..it kinda blew...then after we did that and got our name badge and time clock card that chick tells the guy who's our supervisor or whatever hes called is basically an asshole...great they couldn't have told us this before saying yeah we will take the job...they wanted us to start tonight, we said nope see you tomorrow..we work from 11pm to 7:30am...it will be interesting to see how this turns out tomorrow..wish us luck!!

signs

we have noticed some weird signs posted..we were driving home from one of the towns nearby and i saw a sign posted that said hitchhiking PERMITTED...wtf...doesn't small town America watch horror movies..hitchhiking is never a good thing..lol...then we saw this sign(pictured below)ok..does anyone else find this as funny as we do..we realized that pud stands for public utility and something..we think maybe there should be some dots between the letters...what do you think??

soap lake

the other day we went to soap lake.this lake is not deep at all you can walk all the way across i don't think the water reaches your calf..the hills and mountains around it make it kinda look like the grand canyon..they say that soap lake has all these minerals in it and has healing powers..i guess with all the minerals and stuff it makes these soap bubbles and stuff at the shore.. guess thats how it got its name.

mont lake

the other night we went down to Mont lake and watched the sunset..its was pretty cool..we saw beavers swimming back to the reeds. and saw carp jumping right out of the water..lots of neat looking dragon fly's and birds..we took some pics but with the cell phone so they aren't that great..the picture above is 4 different pics blended together to make the one panoramic picture

job update

well..yesterday they called and asked us to come in on Monday and fill out paper work and schedule training...so i guess we passed the drug and test and now have a job...will let you know what happens on Monday..

drink of the night

so we decided to drink a little tonight...so our friends bought these...Bacardi silver mojito things...never had Bacardi silver before...these things have the weirdest taste to them...has anyone had these before...taste like a minty NyQuil mix...after awhile you don't notice it , but man that first drink...odd....

redneck lights

so we get up the other morning and walk into the living room and look out on the balcony and our friend had put up these lights...trailers,BBQ's and t-bone steaks...lmao...

night sky

the sky tonight looked so awesome we had to share some pictures of it...

drug test

ok...so went for our job interview today...it went well, did the drug test...which consisted of this stick you put in your mouth and you scrape the inside of your cheek and leave in your mouth for a few minutes...they had us do this while the interview was going on.lol.if we pass the drug test, which we will know on Friday if we did, we will be employed.. we will be doing over night stock at the Safeway here in town...10pm to 7am...they said we will probably get 30-40 hours a week...the kid who interviewed us was from Anaheim california...lol....finding a job happened quicker then we thought it would...

clouds

So we are driving around town today and saw this cloud pictured to the left....we think it looks like the D in the Anaheim ducks logo...what do you think???

finally here.

so our friends pick us up at bus station,it was great to see them its always great to see them, and we head for their place about an hour car ride, we stopped for lunch and did a little shopping..we finally get to our final destination and it felt good to just be done traveling..we get to the room we are staying in and our friends bought us a fire bellied toad like the ones we had at home...we named her Amtrak...that was so cool of them to do ..We have been here a few days now and we have been just getting settled in and stuff, and getting rid of that feeling that im swaying on a train still...lol.. we will probably start looking for a job next week.

Hotel stay and bus ride

we stayed in a hotel overnight..our room had two of the biggest beds i have ever seen. We had to jump into the bed..when i would sit on the edge of that bed my foot didn't even hit the floor...very comfortable bed...loved it..

Morning comes and we check out of hotel and head to greyhound station. We check in there and they charged to check our bags...the first one was free then 5 bucks which additional...cost us 10 bucks...ugh..anyway...so they send us to door 12 to sit and wait for bus..while sitting there we noticed there were some scuzzy looking people taking the bus...there was this one chick who looked over at us and the started to try to lick her face and seemed like she was fighting with herself....she had to have been on some good drugs..

so they start to load the bus well, the people who got bumped off another bus got to on the bus first and I'm thinking to myself there are a lot of people in this line and we could get bumped off this bus...luckily we got on the bus...the greyhound we were on was just nasty i looked up there was mold all over the ceiling of the bus down the one side..the bus was completely full. a.c worked nice..When the people sat down behind us, it became the deodorant free zone, those people stunk so bad.we think the smelled knock us out for a couple of hours because we actually slept the last two hours of the bus ride...lol...The cool thing we saw during the bus ride was the columbia river gorge....it was so cool, there was a waterfall too..

day 2 on train

so. we wake up near mt. Shasta it was real early in the morning. we didn't get much sleep, think we got a couple of hours broken up through out the night.there was a lot of people getting on and off the train at all hours of the night, other passengers talking loud and stuff like that made it difficult to sleep.at about 1-2am i got up to use the restroom well just as i'm peeing the train is making this long turn against the moutain so i'm holding on and then the lock on the restroom decieded to slide to the unlocked side...so with one hand my bracing myself becasue of this turn and the other holding the lock to the lock postion all while trying to pee.lmao,.the train stoped at one point in the morning and i thought we were letting a freight train go by, nope the train started to go backwards for some reason, i'm thinking to myself did he make a wrong turn onto a wrong track or what,...i dont know it was weird .we started going forward again..rest of the train ride was nice....we pull into portland got off the train and there was just a wall heat that hit us, its was very humid and raining too...

day 1 on train

We get to the train station and dad, and the kid are with us. We check in and go to the platform to board the train.Dad carries our bags all the way on the train and puts them in the over head compartment and then hugged us goodbye and him and the kid waited on the platform til the train pulled away. That was hard watching them stand there while we pulled away, like we left them behind kind of thing.....The Ride was nice the coastline was very cool.We saw dolphins and birds and just a lot more wildlife then what we saw when we did this trip in January.there was some delays with having to stop and way for freight trains to go by because they have the right of way.so day one was good lots of things to see and the fellow passengers haven't gotten on your nerves yet
